SNOW DAY!!

We had a rare snow day here in North Carolina. Yesterday was when it hit, but Abe wasn't feeling well, so we snuggled down with hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls and waited until today to take him out to play.

Abe was pretty excited to be out in the snow (let's face it, he's been sick and couped up and would have been happy to just leave with or without snow) but he didn't really want to touch it. He liked walking around in it and he would tentatively put his hand out to the car or bushes. There was no intentional sitting down, picking it up, or even trying to eat it though. We didn't spend too much time out there, but I was glad that we got a chance to enjoy the snow for awhile (it is supposed to be all melted away by tomorrow night). This is as close to pregnancy belly pictures as you are going to get from me!

Ken was working from home, so he came out to join the fun!

Anyone else see the resemblance??

Indulgence

I had a really interesting week. There were several very fun things and several very trying things. In the end though, it was a week of indulgence! First, of course, was my ultrasound and learning we were having a boy. From that prompted a small little shopping trip to Target. They had a bunch of clothes on clearance for 75% off and I realized a new indulgence that I will now have, matching outfits for my little guys. Here are some I got this week:The day after my shopping spree, I learned that Target had marked a ton of toys on clearance, 75% off as well. I hit this clearance last year and got all of Abe's birthday and Christmas, plus some other toys for presents for really inexpensive. We rushed out the door and next thing you know, my sewing room is now Santa's workshop! Now, I have to find room to store all our toys. Our boys are going to be spoiled for birthdays and Christmas this year!

My favorite find was the Little People set, only $7.50!!

Finally, Abe got a really nasty cold a day ago and has been pretty miserable. I woke up this morning and found he'd shared his cold with me, only I can't take any medication because I'm pregnant. Fun. Today, after Ken let me take a nice, long nap, I had my last indulgence of the week, I made Fruity Pebbles treats. Yum! Fruity Pebbles were always a favorite cereal around the house growing up and I'd always look forward to Grandma Bodily making them for our 24th of July celebration. It was a perfect little treat and I admit, I've eaten way more than my share.

Surprise!! We're having a ...

So, I know this is news to many of you. We didn't officially announce it until today, but Baby Carlile #2 is on it's way!!! Or, should I say, HIS way! Yep, we found out today that we are having another little boy. I am just over 19 weeks (due June 4th) and feeling pretty good at this point. The baby looked healthy and everything looked great, so we are thrilled. I, personally, can't ever tell much from ultrasound pictures, but here is the "it's a boy" picture (with a pointing arrow even!) and a picture of the face. I added some directions on the first copy of the face picture to kind of point out what you are looking at. We are so happy to be adding to our family and can't wait for Abe to be a big brother!

The arrow came through really small, sorry (I know you all wanted to see!) It is the tiny white dot almost right in the middle of the picture.

Let us remember: 2008!

My good friend Rachelle did this on her blog and I thought it was a great idea, so here is some previously unpublished pictures and videos from 2008.
January

Those eyes are just so big and blue! We also loved this doggie hat sent to us by Aunt Carie.

February Abe love his exersaucer, given to us by our friends the Link's. We were so sad when he outgrew this toy!

March

I love this video of my Mom with Abe. It was nice to have her visit and that is still one of Abraham's favorite sounds. He'll imitate it anytime he hears anyone make it.

April

Our first visit to Marbles museum. It was so much fun to spend time with our family. The Later's enjoyed the green screen...too bad no one took a picture of the Later family dance, it rocks.

May

Ken always called this Abe's bumblebee outfit, so one day we made it official.

June

Our good friends and across the street neighbors moved away in June! We were so sad, but are glad that they are only 25 minutes away so we can still see them!

July

Bathtimes are always a favorite time of day at our house.

August

In August and the beginning of September we were on a trip to SLC and Texas. My good friend Jaime helped us out by watching Abraham one night. Here is Abe with her son. That kid can find a remote no matter where he is!

September

One day Abe was playing with his trucks in his high chair. He threw one and it bounced and landed as you see it in the picture! It was too funny.

October

I know everyone expected a Halloween picture, too bad. Here is one from the Fair with the prize winning pumpkins.

November

Tami and Jared got Abe this recorder for his birthday. He loves it! We love how his little legs kick while he plays.

December

After much deliberation, the judges have come back and they give 2008 a big thumb's up!

Christmas with the Carlile's!

We had a great Christmas. On Christmas Eve we attempted our tradition of matching PJs, but I'm not very adept and the first pair I made for Abe were way too little (nightmares from last year) and the second pair were huge. In fact they looked like MC Hammer pants. Needless to say, no one else got jammies this year.
I'm grateful that you can't see me trying to get Abe to dance. If you look close you can see my feet kicking.
This video is Abe's first reaction to Santa's loot. You can see in his face that he just woke up. I love the talking we captured. He babbles like that CONSTANTLY. It is so cute. We have a longer video we are going to post on YouTube for interested parties, I'll post the link once we have it up.
It was just such a wonderful day to relax and spend together. Thanks to G & G Carlile, G & G Tucker, the Davis', and Cole Brock and Zane for all the gifts you sent. We loved them. Below are some of our favorite pictures of the day. Ken recieved a weed whacker and rake from Santa and I got a bread machine, not only from Santa, but a second one from my mom! Luckily Santa saved his reciepts and I can return one for something else.

The first present he went for under the tree was this plane.

One tired kid. Helping Dad open the Little People Zoo. Thanks G & G Carlile! The zoo is awesome. We all loved playing with it. This is Abe's awesome apron from the Davis family. We all got one, they are great. We can't wait to use our Paula Dean kid's cookbook too!I love the frog my cousins sent me! Nice choice Cole, Brock, and Zane! This present was addressed to Abe, but I think it was more for Ken than Abe. (If you can't see, the shirt reads: I've got an awesome Dad)Reading my new book. My mom made these awesome animal pillows for all the grandkids. Abraham loved his monkey!Fresh bread on Christmas! I loved my present!

Tag

I've been tagged several times, on several different tags and I must admit, I've never done any of them. My sister in law Andrea tagged me on this and I've seen a lot of people do it and it is pretty fun, so here you go. It is the 4th picture in your 4th folder and the 6th picture in your 6th folder. Since Abraham starts with an "A" all my first few files are about him (Abraham birth, Abraham 2007, Abraham 2008, Abraham 1st birthday, etc). That is no fun, so I went from the bottom up. Much more interesting.

This is (duh) from our wedding. Ken and I were married June 16, 2006 in the Bountiful, Utah temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

So, this was after the first day of our vacation to Utah and Texas last August. Abraham was so tired from flying and jet lag that he just conked out. We completely changed his diaper and put him in jammies and he never woke up!
