I'm SO tired!

Abe's night time ritual involves bath and lotion, then cereal, then he nurses to sleep. Last night we got to the cereal and he was so tired...Luckily for me that meant he slept from 10 PM to 4 AM! Hooray for 6 hours!

Homemade Haircut!!

So, when Mom was here we decided that it would be a good investment to buy clippers. For the cost of 2 haircuts we could buy them and then Mom could show me what to do and then I could try it once solo. That way if I was terrible we weren't out any money and if I proved myself worthy we'd save money. Today was the big day of the first haircut. I must admit, I was pretty proud of myself. I think it went fairly well for a first timer!! The top picture is the before...the bottom picture is the after.

February Book Club

This month my book club met at our house. The book was The Life of Pi by Yann Martel. It has become a tradition with out book club to make refreshments that go along with the book.
This book is about a boy who is stranded on a lifeboat with a Zebra, Heyena, Monkey, and a Tiger. The monkey gets to the lifeboat by floating on bananas, so I made banana bread.
Then Ken had the idea for Tiger cupcakes. I thought they turned out pretty good. It was a fun time!

My feet, that is! How long does it take to get a baby dressed? It depends on if he's found his feet or not!

The story of the Keys!

After our snowy, cold trip, it was a nice treat to come home to 75 - 80 degree weather! Abe and I took advantage of things and met Tami and Madison at the park. We had a great time and Abe loved the swings. As we were getting ready to leave I realized I couldn't find my keys. After looking EVERYWHERE I was so frustrated. I didn't think we even had another copy of the key to my car! Abe was hungry, it was hot, and I wanted to clean my house before Ken came home from work. Tami and I searched the diaper bag a hundred times, searched the car (which was unlocked), searched the trunk, searched the ground, with no luck. I decided a kid must have seen them on the ground and picked them up, thinking they were a toy. I sat down to wait and see if someone would return them. Tami waited with me. Finally after a few hours, we decided to just leave. Tami was going to drive me home, but we decided to go by the police station first. The police station was a bust and I was so distraught. As we drove away I said another quick prayer in my heart. As I did I picked up my diaper and put my hand in one of the pockets (again, this is the diaper bag we'd searched over and over) and realized there was a hole in the stitching. Not daring to hope, I reached my hand through the tear and pulled out my keys. Through this whole experience I had held it together, but at that point I started to cry, it was so relieving to have found them. As Tami and I said a quick prayer of thanks together, I realized what an amazing thing prayer is. With wars and disease and poverty and so many other problems in the world, Heavenly Father cares enough about me and knows me enough to help me find my keys.

COUSINS!!!

Abraham has 3 (and one more on the way) cousins that are very close to him in age. We were glad that we got to visit all of them on our recent adventure. First we got to see Clayton who is 2 months older than Abe....they look the same size though! They held hands on their own, it was so adorable!
In Washington we got to visit Ashton, who is 2 days younger; and Jace, who is 2 months younger. It was funny to see how big Abe was compared to someone so close to his age! The other 2 boys had 3-6 month outfits and we had to get Abe 6-9 month!

It will be so fun as the boys get older to have cousins to play with. We're excited for our next boy cousin to be born in April!!!

The Men

Ken found some good friends in Bryan and Barlow in the few days we spent in Washington. The grip competitions sparked all their competitive natures and it seemed they were competing about one thing or another the whole trip. Not to brag, but I think in the end Ken walked away winner in both the grip and the push up pro competition!!! Keep practicing Barlow and Bryan! Better luck next trip!
