Umstead Park

We went for a nature walk at a nearby park the other day. Ken captured some beautiful pictures of the kids.

They were all trying to look through the cracks to see what was in there.
I love this picture. Seriously. And hey, everyone's looking at the camera!

Some friends brought us Gingerbread Cookies and I loved the little Annemarie cookie!
I have way too much fun putting her beautiful hair into pigtails. Our cute little ginger.

Feeding Time at the Zoo

Rex asked for a mandarin orange for snack and a few minutes later asked for another. When he asked for a third I investigated. Apparently it was feeding time at the zoo

A Bear-y Merry Holiday

The first graders at Abraham's school put on a little show, A Bear-y Merry Holiday. While we didn't get a single good picture, it was quite obvious we had the cutest bear there! He did a great job and we really enjoyed watching him. He enjoyed getting ice cream afterwards with just Mom and Dad and no siblings!

Uncle Kale Visits

Ken's brother Kale was on the East coast for business and was able to stop by and stay one night at our house. The kids were in heaven. They spent all afternoon using the Mighty Men and Monster Maker.
There was a fair amount of "battle" that went on too, but I didn't get any pictures of that excitement and fun.
Our only complaint is that the visit was much too short!

Cowboy Day

The boys had Spirit week at school and their favorite day was Cowboy Day.

All I want for Christmas...

I keep telling him he's lucky to have lost his front teeth right before Christmas. He just wants his permanent ones to grow quickly.

Putting up the Tree

One of my favorite days of the year is putting up the Christmas tree! I love it.
Rex's glasses are in the shop getting new lenses, so he's without them for a few days.
All the kids have had Fifth's Disease over the last few weeks. It is Tyler's turn to have the super red cheeks.
Abraham is missing so many teeth! Such a gap toothed smile.
 Christmas, here we come!

Leaves

We had a fairly warm day the other week, so we went outside to rake leaves. Ken and I were testing out the sports setting on the camera and got some fun action shots.

Nothing like a sweet, clean little baby, fresh from the tub!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween from Little Red Riding Hood, her Grandmama, The Three Little Pigs, and the Big Bad Wolf.
I love how completely unfazed Annemarie is in this picture. You can't tell from the pictures, but I had watched YouTube and had on some old lady make up. It was so funny, people didn't even recognize me!
Ken's costume was amazing, the pictures don't do it justice.

Abraham is 7!

Abraham turned 7!

He wanted an Angry Birds cake. I had much more elaborate plans in my mind, but this is what he got.

 Seriously, the best face ever!
I just love how excited he is about his cake.

Annemarie had no trouble remembering how to eat cake from her birthday a month before.
These are out of order, but Ken and I went and had lunch with Abraham at school. He got to choose one special friend to come eat on the stage with us.
(note the mysterious disappearing hand)

Happy Birthday Abraham!!! We love you.

Pumpkin Patch

My kids begged me for days to go to a pumpkin patch. I'm not sure where they got the idea from, since it is something we've never done before. Anyway, we found a little pumpkin stand not far from the house and took the kids. They loved it. Rex told everyone we met for days that he'd gone to the pumpkin patch.

This is the best of about a dozen tries to take this picture. I guess you take what you can get.
