Victory....Part Two

I know, I know. I'm terrible. After all we went through to get Abe sleeping through the night a month and a half ago, I let it slide. He got sick and was running a high fever for a few days and I just couldn't let him cry in that condition. Then he was cutting 5 top teeth and I just couldn't do it. Next thing I knew I was getting up to nurse once or twice a night again. This week we toughed it out...again. Last night he fell asleep about 9:15 and he is still asleep!!!! It is 8:2o and I haven't heard a peep ALL NIGHT LONG! Hooray! I'm really excited (maybe that's all the sleep I got going to my head) Hopefully it will stick this time.

Happy Anniversary!!!

2 years ago today (I know, I can't believe it has only been 2 years too!) Ken and I were married for time and all eternity in the Bountiful, Utah Temple. I remember so many wonderful things about that day, but mostly I remember the happiness and peace I felt and the great love I had for my new husband. It was a lot of fun to go through all of our pictures and remember everything that happened that day. Didn't those little girls steal the show in their outfits?!?! Today, to celebrate, Ken took the day off and we spent the whole day together as a family. It was really fun and one of the best days I've had in a long time. The slideshow chronicles what we did. It may seem somewhat mundane and ordinary, but it was so nice to be together. All day I was reminded of that great love that I still feel for my husband.

After JoAnn's I dropped our camera and broke it...oops...so no more pictures. We just spent the rest of the day around the house, hanging out. It was perfect. Happy Anniversary Ken! I love you!

Happy Father's Day.

We had a great Father's Day today. It was Stake Conference for us and so Ken had no early meetings! Hooray! We got to drive to church together, a rare and special surprise. Also, we got a new Stake President, so we had the priviledge of literally sitting at the feet of an apostle as Elder Bednar spoke to us. Ken has been working from home more, to save on gas, so we got him an office chair and mat for his work room downstairs. He is the best Daddy and we were glad to have a special day where we could tell him so!! Abe getting ready to give his Dad the floor mat he picked out especially for him.
He wore his I *heart* my Daddy onsie to celebrate. We laughed when we saw he'd gotten his wisk (a favorite toy!) wedged in like it was a sword or something.
Ken trying out his new chair!
My boys. Aren't they handsome???

Just a Confirmation.

The Target Legend

So, I have several blogs I like to visit that help me find deals and coupons etc. I had read on several of those blogs the following Target legend:

In the juice section, Target sells 15 packs of Minute Maid juice for $4.29.
Sometimes you'll find a 10 pack mixed in with the fifteen packs. No one knows
how it got there or why it is there, but if you are lucky enough to find a 10
pack, snatch it up because it will ring up for only $0.69!!!
Well, this story seemed pretty fishy to me, but after reading it on several blogs, I would walk pass the juice section in Target when I went...just in case. A few weeks ago, as I walked past, I looked down and low and behold there was a 10 pack of juice!! My heart started racing. I picked it up and then continued walking and deliberated. Do I buy it? What if it rings up for more than $0.69? What should I do? I finally decided it was worth the risk and I brought the juice up to the front with my other purchases. As the clerk scanned my items in, I got nervous as the juice came up and then, she scanned it, and (drum roll) it was only $0.69!! I couldn't believe it!! Since then I have found 3 more of those elusive 10 packs! It is nice because the juice doesn't expire until the begining of next year and Abe will surely be drinking it by then! So, next time you are in Target, it might be worth your while to stroll down the juice aisle!

Beautiful Sound

aaSome of you have already read about this on Tami's blog, but I wanted to post about my experience with Madison. I was priviledged to attend the appointment where they turned on my neice Maddie's new cochlear implant. She has been deaf from birth, in both ears, so this was literally the first time she heard sound. It wasn't dramatic or earth shattering, but what an amazing spirit was in that room. I am so grateful for the technology that exists to give Maddie this wonderful gift. It is truly a miracle. I am lucky to live so close to Tami and her family. I have come to love that little girl so much. She has so much personality and spunk and I could just sit and watch her for hours. She has so much love and it melts my heart everytime I see her sign my name or give her bun to Baby A because she knows he is tired or sad. I'm excited to see Maddie continue to learn and grow and use her new sense of hearing. We love you Madison! Thanks for letting us share in your special experience. This is right when Maddie heard her first sounds, which were just beeps, but yet... she HEARD them!

Suggestion Duly Noted

We listened to all your suggestions for beating the heat and had fun in the wading pool today! Abe was a little apprehensive at first because of the cold water, but he adapted quickly!! He perfected the splash that he's been working on in the tub. I don't know what Mom is so happy about, this pool is cold!
Maybe this isn't so bad, I can have fun with these toys. Okay, this is definately more fun than the bathtub!
We love our neighbors and friends, Ms. Jess and Ben! Thanks for sharing your wading pool. We had a great time!

Just Passing Time...

This week has been HOT. We've tried to go out in the mornings for a walk or to the park, when it is only 75, so that we can miss the 95 - 100 degree weather in the afternoons. It has made our days seem long (and sweaty). We've had a few fun times though. If anyone has suggestions for passing the day when the sun is too hot for outside, I'd love to hear some! Anyway, here are some random pictures. Abraham loved the dessert that Ken made for a BBQ at our friend's house! We did give him a little taste later on...and he LOVED that!
On the other hand, Abe wasn't so sure about all the attention his little friends were giving him!
He is getting so big. He wants "Big Boy" things all the time. He loves cups and tries valiantly to drink from them.

My two very handsome boys! This is Abe's towel that some good friends sent us for him. We call it his Gandolf towel.
