Lost Teeth

Tyler lost his first and second tooth within days of each other. He was so excited to have finally lost a tooth. 

Butterflies

We were at the butterfly house in the Durham Science Museum and the butterflies were being exceptionally people friendly. It was so fun to hold them and see them up close. 

 On a side note, I think Rex totally looks like Ken's brother Kale in this picture. 

Future Potter Fan

In preparation for our trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I tried to read all the books in about 2 months. Annemarie kept stealing my book and pretending to read. One day I came in and found her sitting at the kitchen table, happily "reading" Harry Potter. 

Our First Pinewood Derby

Ken and Abraham had so much fun working on their first pinewood derby car together. It ended up looking really great. Abraham took first place for the Wolves and was thrilled to come home with a ribbon. 

 I love these pictures of the boys watching the races. You can feel the tension and their excitement. 

Ice Storm

Raleigh got hit with a crazy ice storm. So we settled in a spent a few days cozied up at home. We lost power for a few hours, but not long enough to be a problem. If you are safe inside you can enjoy the beauty of a world covered in ice. 

 We bundled up and played lots of computer games, read lots of books, watched lots of TV, and drank lots of hot chocolate. 

Croup

Poor Rexy had a few bouts of croup this winter. One particularly bad incident landed him in the ER during the middle of the night. It was so scary. I'm thankful for modern medicine that had him feeling better in no time.

ABC's

Annemarie is obsessed with the alphabet. It is really cute. She plays with these foam letters ALL the time, but especially loves them in the bath. 

Gingerbread Houses

Our local library has the best programs. Every year they do gingerbread (graham cracker) houses. Always a fun time. 

Creche

Ken took the boys to a Creche activity our church put on. They had a child friendly living Creche exhibit. That star!

Face Swap

Our friends, the Bacon's, introduced us to the Face Swap app. So funny and ridiculously disturbing at the same time. 

Applesauce!

Target had a crazy killer deal on apples, so I decided to can some applesauce for the first time. We made regular and red hot applesauce. Yum!
