Carolina Mudcats

Some friends from church had some extra tickets to our local minor league baseball team, the Carolina Mudcats. So we headed out Friday night. The game started at 6:15 and since Abe is used to getting ready for bed at 7:00, we were worried about his behavior. We need not have worried, he was an angel. He loves watching people and had a great time staring at everyone around us and enjoying all the kids having fun. We actually stayed until the 7th inning! The Mudcats were ahead when we left, so hopefully they won!

I never get to post first, so

First!

Anyway, glad you had fun at the baseball game. I hate baseball. Playing is fun. Watching is as bad as watching hockey or golf.

I love it when they get old enough and you realize that they are going to have fun at something like this too! It changes what you can do as a family and lets you have so much fun!

We enjoy going to our local team, the Tri-city Dust Devils. (they could take a "mudcat" anyday. Glad you had fun.

Gordon, you are so full of it. Watching a baseball game live is totally fun (don't care for it on TV, though). Remember going to Royal's games when we were little?

We always went to the Royals games but I have to agree with Gordon -- baseball uck! Although I have to confess that I watched the world series when the Royals played the Cardinals and won. That was fun to watch even on TV. We did watch on professional football game in Kansas City and I really loved that but it is still better on TV unless it is BYU football live.

Sorry sports fans, but it's mostly your dad's fault. I was never much of one to just watch games. I loved to play, but I usually was working on Saturday afternoons. I only loved going to the Royals, because I loved being with you kids and Mom. Do you remember going through the stands and picking empty Royal beer cups? Watching you do that was as much fun as the games.

I did get a couple of free tickets to the world series when the Royals played. I was amazed at the enthusiam you felt at the ball park during those games.

I loved the picture of Ken and Abe at the game. I'd keep that one if I were you. I can just see the media getting a hold of it when Abe's starts playing pro.

My favorite is "You're never fully dressed without a smile" Abe's so cute. He must get his cuteness from his grandma, since we all know I kept all of mine.

Your family's comments are the best!! Royal beer cups, eh? You'll have to get Abe in on that little tradition!

How fun! I love going to live baseball games, but alas, my husband is a Tucker and hates baseball. At least now I know where he gets it!
