aaSome of you have already read about this on Tami's blog, but I wanted to post about my experience with Madison. I was priviledged to attend the appointment where they turned on my neice Maddie's new cochlear implant. She has been deaf from birth, in both ears, so this was literally the first time she heard sound. It wasn't dramatic or earth shattering, but what an amazing spirit was in that room. I am so grateful for the technology that exists to give Maddie this wonderful gift. It is truly a miracle. I am lucky to live so close to Tami and her family. I have come to love that little girl so much. She has so much personality and spunk and I could just sit and watch her for hours. She has so much love and it melts my heart everytime I see her sign my name or give her bun to Baby A because she knows he is tired or sad. I'm excited to see Maddie continue to learn and grow and use her new sense of hearing. We love you Madison! Thanks for letting us share in your special experience. This is right when Maddie heard her first sounds, which were just beeps, but yet... she HEARD them!

Kim,
I had no idea that you had a deaf niece. That must have been so incredible to be there when she heard for the first time. What a miracle.
I am so jealous you get to spend time with maddie (and abe and dallin). I like the last pic you had, where your both making kissy faces.
I really REALLY wish Addie and Maddie could play together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is so neat. I'm glad everything went well. Did Tami have another baby? And did he/she pass their hearing test? I know you said she was worried about that.
